Overview
This policy explains the information Blackline may process when you browse the website, create an account, purchase a program, contact support or use a simulated evaluation. It also describes the choices and rights available under applicable privacy law.
Information collected automatically
Our systems may record IP address, browser and device details, operating system, referral source, pages viewed, session duration, approximate location, security events and cookie identifiers. We use this data for administration, security, abuse prevention, analytics and product improvement.
Information you provide
Depending on the service, we may request your name, email, telephone number, country, date of birth, account credentials, identity and address evidence, tax or reward information, communications and support history. Simulated account records may include orders, positions, equity, rule status, device signals and timestamps.
Information from other sources
Identity-verification, fraud-prevention, payment, analytics, affiliate and compliance providers may return verification results or other lawful information needed to operate the service.
How information is used
- Create and administer accounts and evaluation orders.
- Provision simulated platforms and calculate program rules.
- Provide support, service notices and requested communications.
- Verify identity, payment ownership and reward eligibility.
- Detect fraud, account sharing, manipulation and security threats.
- Improve platform performance, features and user experience.
- Meet accounting, legal, regulatory and dispute obligations.
- Send marketing where consent or another lawful basis permits it.
Legal bases
Processing may rely on performance of a contract, compliance with legal duties, legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, and consent. The applicable basis depends on the activity and your location.
Billing and payments
Payments are handled by approved third-party processors. Blackline generally receives transaction references, payment status and limited billing details rather than complete card credentials. Each provider processes payment data under its own privacy terms.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information. Necessary data may be shared with platform, hosting, security, payment, communications, analytics, identity, compliance and professional-service providers; authorised affiliates; a buyer in a corporate transaction; or public authorities where lawfully required. Access must be limited to the relevant purpose.
Retention
Records are kept only for service delivery, security, fraud prevention, accounting, complaints and legal requirements. When no longer needed, information is deleted, de-identified or securely archived as permitted by law.
International transfers
Providers may process information outside your home country. Where required, Blackline will use recognised contractual, adequacy or other safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Your choices and rights
Applicable law may allow you to access, correct, delete, restrict or export information; object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a supervisory authority. We may verify identity before completing a request and may retain information where a legal exception applies.
EEA and UK rights
Individuals covered by GDPR or UK GDPR may have data-portability, objection and regulatory-complaint rights in addition to the choices above. The launch version must identify the controller, representative and supervisory authority where required.
California and other US state rights
Residents of eligible US states may request disclosure, correction or deletion of covered information and may have rights concerning sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Blackline does not presently propose to sell personal data. The launch notice should be updated for the states actually served.
Children
The service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly create accounts for minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data should contact us.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Cookies and similar tools may support security, preferences, measurement and—where enabled—campaign attribution. Optional technologies should follow the consent controls required in your region. See the Cookies Policy for more detail.
Do Not Track and preference signals
Browser signals are not interpreted uniformly. Before launch, Blackline should document which legally recognised opt-out signals it supports and keep non-essential collection proportionate.
Affiliate links and external websites
Blackline may receive a commission from disclosed referral links. Third-party websites operate under their own terms and privacy practices, for which Blackline is not responsible.
Email marketing
Promotional email will be sent only where permitted. You may unsubscribe through the message link, though essential account and service communications will continue.
Security and breach response
Blackline proposes administrative, organisational and technical controls appropriate to the information handled. No online system is completely secure. Where law requires it, affected individuals and authorities will receive notice of a qualifying personal-data breach.
Policy changes and contact
Material revisions will be posted with a new effective date and additional notice where required. Privacy requests should be sent to privacy@blacklinefunding.com. Before launch, insert the registered entity, postal address, jurisdiction, data controller and any appointed representative.
